Thank You Yellowglen

Not being a heavy drinker, and really concerned about drinking and driving, it was with much delight that I discovered the most marvelous champagne in my local bottleshop. Marketed by Yellowglen, it is called Jewel and contains only 3.6 standard drinks PER BOTTLE!!! Yep, no more worries about drinking and driving. No more problems with nasty hangovers after 3 glasses wine. It was bubbly and tasted fairly well compared to the other full strength varieties. With many birthdays, spring, summer and xmas coming up, I am really happy to have found some light bubbly to take with me and celebrate in moderation.

Kudos to Yellowglen! If only more winemakers could take responsibility and release a few more light bottled wines…

Wish I could share your enthusiasm, but, having done the drink driving course once, after having been charged with 0.6 after 2 wines, I learnt that rule of thumb is - Men, can put 20 cents in their pockets every beer they have and at the end of the night, count them up and thats how many hours you dont drive for. Woman on the other hand, cant rely on that, as it matters if , we are hormonal, fat, thin, hungry, tall , short, or just plain bloody unlucky, which I was……..well I think anyway. But, Jewel does sound promising, if only for the fact that I may be able to have a few nowadays without falling asleep.

I saw in the paper earlier this week that one European country, I forget which, only allows non-alcoholic beer in its sports stadiums. Some Aussies who went there planning to get smashed by drinking more than five beers an hour found out after the rugby game they were still stone cold sober!!!!! Pity our stadiums don’t take it up!
