Celebrating Spring

I had the most wonderful weekend! The arrival of Spring saw me with tons of washing on the line - you may think me mad or very strange, but I love the smell of freshly laundered sun dried washing - especially when I put the still sun-warm sheets back on my bed! So very Spring!

My son took me out for Fathers Day, thanking me for being both his mum and his dad. We went to Purple Haze to join in the acoustic jam that happens on the first Sunday of every month. There were 4 of us and we sang gospel and blues and jazz and soul and folk music until closing time. It was so very good for my soul!

I also indulged in a huge slice of delicious passionfruit sponge - yum yum yum! That and a truly excellent latte made it just the best arvo for ages.

There is something magical and uplifting about sharing food and song:)

Took up my latest mandala - Purple Haze. It was supposed to be about lavender and the colour purple but it came out as a tribute to Jimi Hendrix - there was nothing I could do about it, thats what I love about mandala creation. What you intend to create and what actually happens are two different things. I think I channelled Jimi for 2 weeks while I was doing this one!

I’m not going to post it here for very obvious reasons, but will make it available at some stage for www viewing - am still working on my photobucket site.

Have a wonderful week everyone:)

I deleted my first offering as mauldin……suffice to say I hoped all the single fathers got to be remembered for more than their maintenance cheques yesterday…As I sat between my husband, and the natural father of my children, celebrating Fathers Day.

I am very glad that you have such a rich relationship for your son…..and my mouth watered at the passionfruit cake tempting you successfully….At 10 o’clock last night I was hanging out the washing…not with thought of spring in the air and the fresh smell of sunshine, but rather the gluey stains of gravy forced me into it!

I should have clarified the “maulin” as remembering a son whose father had died and was unable to share Father’s Day with him, even if he’d wanted to!

know what you mean about the washing and you’re right about the sharing food & song thing too. Where is Purple Haze by the way?
